Senior Accountant

As a member of the Accounting Department, you will share the responsibility to facilitate these goals.
OVERVIEW:
The distinction between an Accountant and a Senior Accountant is the level of understanding and ownership of the responsibilities within the Accounting Department. A Senior Accountant is expected to recognize problems, know where and how to find answers to questions and pursue resolution of issues independently from the supervision of the Vice President of Accounting. A senior-level accountant is expected to produce results with excellence and such results do not require review or intervention from the Vice President. Senior Accountants are required to examine and provide meaningful and practical plans for the department, work flow and process improvement as well as demonstrate leadership and service excellence.
SUMMARY:
Perpetuate and uphold strict confidentiality for all company and customer information. Compute, classify, record and maintain data; verify accuracy of data; provide direction, training and evaluation of co-workers' performance of tasks; audit, evaluate and QA department produced work; prepare, analyze and verify statements, invoices and other records; supervise the quality and direction for accounting tasks; comply with federal, state and company policies, procedures and regulations. Provide a superior service experience for our customers and for co-workers.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other related programs and majors
- Minimum of at least three (3) years of professional experience
- Ability to communicate effectively and work independently
- Polite, friendly and helpful demeanor
- Positive and cooperative attitude
- Detail oriented
- Advanced computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office® programs and Web literate
- Proficiency in all aspects of business writing
- Fluent in written and spoken English (North America) language
HOURS/ATTENDANCE:
The standard workweek schedule will be mutually determined, but will occur within the TELCOR published office hours of 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
